In the making of Arif Habib Office in Hyderabad, the clients chose against dismantling the 100-year-old building and to work with its existing architectural vocabulary. The design brief seeks to minimize interventions proposed and to ensure they compliment rather than compete with or imitate the interior. The spirit of celebrating architecture as art, existing symbology in architectural design and details has prevailed in adaptive re-use building. The building has been designed to harness the speed of modern day transaction with the deliberated and slow process of craft and bespoke fittings. The building reinstates values of trust, tradition and importance through preserving and protecting existing urban fabric.
