BEACH HUT
I have always loved the drive to the beach. Fishermen’s huts, the little painted boats with nets and ropes, the sea song. Seashells, sand, salt, water. This project took me to the beach almost every week. The mangroves visible from the hut were the most inspiring thing after the waves and the sky. The building façade responds to these magnificent views by flying open to greet them. The window frames are tied back with rope and suspended like sails when open.
