Moyena Ahmed Niazi

Moyena Ahmed Niazi is an Architecture Graduate from the first batch of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (1995). Her interest in the field of Sustainable Architecture led her to a Masters degree in the same at Newcastle University (2017).
She established her practice, Design Options, in partnership with Khadija tul Kubra by the name of Design Options in 2002. This partnership was dissolved in July 2021 and she founded Co-Design.
Along with her practice, she has been teaching undergraduate and masters classes; and continues to as an external thesis advisor at IVS, NED and KU. She has presented papers at Conferences by the Institute of Architects amongst other national and international forums. She also participates in art and architecture exhibitions. Her work and writings have been featured and published in local and international media.
She has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors IVS. She has served on the board of PAANI, an NGO working towards solutions for water related issues. She is one of the founder members of the IVS Alumni Association and has served as President of the association as well. She has been an active member and distinguished associate of the Institute of Architects Pakistan as well as Pakistan Institute of Interior Design.
She was a recipient of the Founders Award at IVS 1995, as well as the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Award 2016. Most recently she was awarded with Design Excellence Award 2019, by Institute of Architects Pakistan in the category Commercial Architecture and Interiors.
